Decorative and statement wall mirrors

A decorative mirror is hung where a picture might have gone. It still does the useful job – bouncing light, making a room read as deeper – but the shape or the finish is the point. Ours are all frameless and cut from a single sheet, so the outline is the decoration rather than a border around it.

Shape as the feature

Irregular and wavy mirrors are the clearest statement: a flowing outline on a plain wall needs nothing else around it. Arch mirrors are softer and more architectural, which is why they work above a console table or a fireplace. Our plain frameless range covers the quieter end – clean geometric shapes that read as calm rather than loud. If what you are after is genuinely unusual rather than merely decorative, the funky end of the range is where the wavy and pebble outlines live.

Tinted glass

Beyond clear glass we make mirrors in bronze, grey, gold, blue, green and rainbow finishes, plus an antique finish with a genuine aged patina. A tinted mirror reflects a little less light and warms or cools what it does reflect, which suits a room where a clear mirror would feel too bright or too stark. Bronze flatters warm timber and brass fittings; grey suits a cooler, more monochrome scheme; the antique finish belongs in a period room.

Adding a frame or a bevel

If you want a border, an anodised brushed aluminium frame is available on rectangular and round mirrors in five finishes – matt black, matt grey, champagne gold, warm gold and silver. Irregular and arch shapes are frameless only. A frame stands proud of the wall, where a frameless mirror sits flat against it. A bevelled edge is the subtler alternative on a rectangle or a square: the effect of a border, ground into the glass itself.

Making it fit

Decorative mirrors are usually hung above something – a console, a sideboard, a chest of drawers – so size the mirror to that piece: 70 to 90 per cent of its width, with 15 to 25 cm of wall between them.
