Choosing a wall mirror

Every mirror we make is a wall mirror – hung, not standing – and each one is made to order. The quickest way through the range is to decide three things: whether you want light in the mirror, what shape suits the wall, and what size the room can take.

With lights or without

LED mirrors light your face from the edge of the glass and replace a separate fitting above the mirror. They are the obvious choice in a bathroom, at a dressing area or anywhere you need to see your face properly. Plain frameless mirrors are for everywhere else – a hall, over a fireplace, along a landing – where the mirror is there to bounce daylight and open the room up.

By shape

Round mirrors soften a room full of straight lines. Rectangular and square mirrors waste the least wall and suit long, narrow spaces. Arch mirrors have a flat base and a curved top, which is why they sit so well above a console table or a basin. Irregular and wavy mirrors work as a feature in their own right. Bevelled mirrors add a ground, sloping edge that catches the light around the rim.

By size and by room

As a rule, a mirror should relate to the furniture beneath it rather than to the wall: 70 to 90 per cent of the width of a vanity unit, console or chest of drawers. Large wall mirrors start at 100 cm and are the fastest way to make a narrow room feel wider. Cut to size

If nothing in the LED range is the right size, enter your exact dimensions on the product page for your chosen LED mirror. For a mirror without lighting, use the cut-to-size configurator to order rectangles and free shapes from 10 to 200 cm or circles from 13 to 150 cm to your exact millimetre dimensions, with a tolerance of ±1 mm. You choose the edge finish, an optional bevel on rectangles, an aluminium frame in five finishes, and safety film if the mirror will hang somewhere exposed. We deliver free of charge anywhere in the Republic of Ireland, including Dublin, Cork and Galway.
